Postie’s Daughter Designs Scotland’s New Cricket World Cup Shirt

A huge congratulations to 13-year-old Millie Chaudhary from Prestwick, whose winning design will be worn by the Scotland Women’s team at the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Millie’s design was selected from hundreds of entries submitted to Cricket Scotland’s nationwide “Design the Shirt” competition, earning her the honour of seeing Scotland’s international players take to the world stage wearing a shirt she created.

The new kit was officially unveiled on Prestwick beach alongside Scotland internationals Abtaha Maqsood, Megan McColl and Gabriella Fontenla ahead of next month’s tournament in England.

Speaking about her success, Millie said:

“I’m totally shocked my design was selected but I’m so happy. I only entered the competition for fun after my mum sent me a link to it. I love the design and I’m so proud to see it and how it’s come out.”

Millie’s achievement is made even more special for the CWU family as her father, Sachin, has been a Royal Mail postie for more than 15 years and has been a proud CWU member since day one.

Sachin is also a well-known figure within Scottish cricket, having represented Scotland during his own playing career and remaining highly respected throughout the cricket community.

Scotland Women’s vice-captain Sarah Bryce praised the competition and Millie’s winning design, saying:

“I love the winning design and can’t wait to wear it at the World Cup . It’s been a brilliant initiative and will add an extra something special wearing a shirt one of our supporters has designed.”

Everyone at CWU Glasgow & District Amal would like to congratulate Millie on this incredible achievement. To have your design selected from hundreds of entries is a remarkable accomplishment, and we wish both Millie and the Scotland Women’s team every success at the World Cup.

A proud moment for Millie, her family, Scottish cricket, and the wider CWU family.
